Proverbs 28/19
Those who cultivate their arable land will be able to eat their fill of bread, those who chase after things that are not necessary will eat their fill of poverty.
It’s harvest time everywhere now. In the worldly we see a rich harvest as the success of efforts in sowing and cultivating the field. But not only our work is decisive here, but also the grace of God, which accompanies all our success.
In a figurative sense, the “bountiful harvest” is to be seen as the result of efforts, how much we heeded God’s commandments, how we treated our people, what we did for the poor, how much we prayed in awe, love and have performed intimacy. The grace of God provides us with a rich harvest of the fruits we bring to Him by living His commandments.
