Christ Jesus is truly the Son of God. It is he who can change everything for the better. We are his brothers and sisters. Paul was given the task by God to bring the gospel to all peoples. We as his successors also have this task.
But nowadays there are many “dry bones”, … people who are without an inner, spiritual impulse, who do not know the Word of God or who, although they know it, have turned away from it. In this situation, Satan has an easy time of winning over man. Even many clergymen today suffer from depression, overwork, and are unable to cope with their families and their religious community. But it is primarily the pastors who have to do the job of leading the people to God. A constant search, constant prayers and requests for help are necessary, the help of the Holy Spirit, the study of the Bible texts, the genuine recognition: “Lord, I am nothing without you, everything I have comes from you!”
For those who see a way out of illness, grief and need only in death, we brothers and sisters in the Lord have to help, raise them up, show them that the Lord Jesus Christ is the only way, the only true help.
The Lord does not look at what we have done in our previous lives so far, if we change fundamentally, strip away everything that has gone, become “new people”. Not only does this happen through baptism, but it can happen over and over again in our lives that we have to stray from the right path and have to start again.
Only the evil always reminds us of the past, but not the Lord our God.
The Lord shows us in various situations what he can do … Lazarus … blind …. lame …..He is resurrection and life, he saves people from the worst situations … even us, if we only have the necessary faith and hope to give ourselves into his hands. Sometimes we ourselves are in the way of God’s help. Knowing that God can free us from every predicament, we must humbly ask for it and not despair if it does not immediately do what we want. Jesus wants all of our “dry bones” to come to life, that we are living examples of His love and kindness.
Let us also trust in sickness and misery that someone will give us help through God’s hand – e.g. the doctor’s hand during a difficult operation. The Lord is always close, he strengthens us, he raises us up, even in the form of our brothers and sisters, we trust him !!!
Ezequiel 37
The Valley of Dry Bones
37 The hand of the Lord was upon me, and he brought me out by the Spirit of the Lord, and set me down in the midst of the valley;[a] it was full of bones. 2 And he led me round among them; and behold, there were very many upon the valley;[b] and lo, they were very dry. 3 And he said to me, “Son of man, can these bones live?” And I answered, “O Lord God, thou knowest.” 4 Again he said to me, “Prophesy to these bones, and say to them, O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord. 5 Thus says the Lord God to these bones: Behold, I will cause breath[c] to enter you, and you shall live. 6 And I will lay sinews upon you, and will cause flesh to come upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath[d] in you, and you shall live; and you shall know that I am the Lord.”
7 So I prophesied as I was commanded; and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold, a rattling; and the bones came together, bone to its bone. 8 And as I looked, there were sinews on them, and flesh had come upon them, and skin had covered them; but there was no breath in them. 9 Then he said to me, “Prophesy to the breath, prophesy, son of man, and say to the breath,[e] Thus says the Lord God: Come from the four winds, O breath,[f] and breathe upon these slain, that they may live.” 10 So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood upon their feet, an exceedingly great host.
11 Then he said to me, “Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel. Behold, they say, ‘Our bones are dried up, and our hope is lost; we are clean cut off.’ 12 Therefore prophesy, and say to them, Thus says the Lord God: Behold, I will open your graves, and raise you from your graves, O my people; and I will bring you home into the land of Israel. 13 And you shall know that I am the Lord, when I open your graves, and raise you from your graves, O my people. 14 And I will put my Spirit within you, and you shall live, and I will place you in your own land; then you shall know that I, the Lord, have spoken, and I have done it, says the Lord.”
