Proverbs: 3: 5-6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
and do not depend on your own understanding.
6 In all your ways acknowledge[c] him,
and he will make your paths straight.
Proverbs 9: 10-12
The fear of the Lord is where wisdom begins,
and knowing holiness[e] demonstrates understanding.
11 For because of me you will live a long life,
and years will be added to your life.
12 If you are wise,
your wisdom will assist you.
Proverbs 10: 13-14
Wisdom characterizes the speech of the discerning,
but the rod is for the backs of those lacking discernment.
14 Those who are wise store up knowledge,
but when the fool speaks, destruction is near.
Purification
Jesus speakes about purification through fire – in the bible we have various references about “fire to purify”.. How can the fire clean up something ? Isn´t it only able to destroy and hurt? .. Let us think about minerals: When we want to bring out gold off the conglomerate rock, we heat it and the gold streams out.
So it is with humans – we go through the fire of the Lord, the Holy Spirit and everything that is wrong and bad will flow out and leave us.
Ezekiel 8
The hand of the Sovereign Lord came on me there. 2 I looked, and I saw a figure like that of a man. From what appeared to be his waist down he was like fire, and from there up his appearance was as bright as glowing metal.
Ezekiel 22 :20
As silver, copper, iron, lead and tin are gathered into a furnace to be melted with a fiery blast, so will I gather you in my anger and my wrath and put you inside the city and melt you.
Zechariah 13:9
And I will bring that surviving third through,
testing them as if through fire,
purifying them like silver,
assaying them like gold.
They will call on my name,
and I will answer them.
I will say, ‘This is my people,’
and they will say, ‘The Lord is my God.’
Isaiah 6:6
Then one of the seraphim flew to me, carrying a burning coal in his hand that he had taken from the altar with tongs.
Isaiah 4:4
when the Lord will have washed away the filth of the women of Zion, cleaning up Jerusalem’s guilt by a spirit of judgment and a spirit of tempest.
1 Korinthians 3: 11-1
11 After all, no one can lay any other foundation than the one that is already laid, and that is Jesus the Messiah.[c] 12 Whether a person builds on this foundation with gold, silver, expensive stones, wood, hay, or straw, 13 the workmanship of each person will become evident, for the day of judgment[d] will show what it is, because it will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each person’s action. 14 If what a person has built on the foundation survives, he will receive a reward.[e] 15 If his work is burned up, he will suffer loss. However, he himself will be saved, but it will be like going through fire. 16 You know that you are God’s sanctuary and that God’s Spirit lives in you, don’t you? 17 If anyone destroys God’s sanctuary, God will destroy him, for God’s sanctuary is holy. And you are that sanctuary!
1 Peter 1:6-7
You greatly rejoice in this, even though you have to suffer various kinds of trials for a little while, 7 so that your genuine faith, which is more valuable than gold that perishes when tested by fire, may result in praise, glory, and honor when Jesus, the Messiah, is revealed.
The Lord promised to wash away all our greif and suffering, to purify us with the Holy Spirit, because our faith is worth much more than gold, solver and every luxury on earth – the only thing is that we have to be faithful and spread the love of our Lord all over the world.
