Jakobus 1: 19-27

19 Therefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger; 20 For man’s anger does not accomplish God’s righteousness! 21 Therefore put away all dirt and all remnant of wickedness, and receive in gentleness[7] the word implanted [in you], which has power to save your souls!
22 But be doers of the word, and not just hearers who deceive yourself. 23 For whoever is a hearer of the word, and not a doer, is like a man looking at his natural face in a mirror; 24 he looks at himself and runs away, soon forgetting how he was designed. 25 But whoever looks into the perfect law of liberty and abides in it, that [man] who is not a forgetful hearer but a real doer, he will be happy in what he does.
26 If anyone among you thinks he is godly, but does not bridle his tongue but deceives his heart, his godliness is worthless. 27 A pure and spotless piety before God the Father is to visit orphans and widows in their affliction[8] and to keep oneself undefiled by the world.
