Matthew 20: 24-33
‘The student is not above the teacher, nor a servant above his master. 25 It is enough for students to be like their teachers, and servants like their masters. If the head of the house has been called Beelzebul, how much more the members of his household!
26 ‘So do not be afraid of them, for there is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known. 27 What I tell you in the dark, speak in the daylight; what is whispered in your ear, proclaim from the roofs. 28 Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell. 29 Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care.[a] 30 And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. 31 So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.
32 ‘Whoever acknowledges me before others, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven. 33 But whoever disowns me before others, I will disown before my Father in heaven.
Thinking about the text: Are we willing to testify our faith in Jesus Christ? Don´t we fear in our inner to be laught about our faith, because of believing in something that nobody is able to see, about that many persons say:“ It does not exist!“? O yes !! We must confess openly and loudly !!
To everybody we shall speake about the glory of god, about His graciousness.
See Saint Francis – he spoke about Jesus even to the birds, and they are said to have been standing still and listening to the words of Francis. The whole creation has to praise god because He created everything as we Christians believe. We can read in the bible: „Not even one unique bird falls from the sky when god not wants it to do. We should not fear the dangers of the world but the eternal darkness that will receive us when we are not going the path that god has provided for us. Most times we miss the provided way, often we are not sure if this painful way can really be the way to the promised land. How easy it would seem sometimes to us to go on a plain, soft way. But our lord tests us and also forgives our „booboos“ that we make willingly our unwillingly. The most important is not to lose the sight of the whole guidelines, that we make the final glory to be our destination – there we shall come – with the help of our Holy Spirit, that gives us light, with our faith, with our strong will, that god provided for us since the beginning. Everything, that is covered up, step by step will appear clearer and lighter and show finally the glory of god – throuh us, as we are build as the image of the Lord.
