25.6.2016 Believe without seeing –

Reading the gospels we are able to learn about how  Jesus is constantly preoccupied with us. He teaches us how to believe and comply, how gods willing is comforting and perfect. Jesus had chosen John, Matthew, Marcos and Luke to write down what He was doing and speaking during His staying on eath. Therefore we, the followers of Him, may know and understand what is gods willing. We can read in the Bible and believe, even when Christus is not between us any more and we cannot see him personally. “Blessed are those who have not seen and (yet) have believed”.

Jesus went around like a HUMAN, he suffered the same way as we do and even much more – he was crucified.

When John had been in the desert, he spoke to the people: (Mark 1:7-11

7 And he preached, saying, “After me comes he who is mightier than I, the strap of whose sandals I am not worthy to stoop down and untie. 8 I have baptized you with water, but he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.”

The Baptism of Jesus

9 In those days Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan. 10 And when he came up out of the water, immediately he saw the heavens being torn open and the Spirit descending on him like a dove. 11 And a voice came from heaven, “You are my beloved Son;[a] with you I am well pleased.”

Jesus had been baptized like every other human. Why did he allow this ? Why do most of persons nowadays wish their children and themselves to be baptized? Why Jesus let himselve be baptized? Why did John the Baptist call the people to the river Jordan to baptize them? Most of the different religions have rituals of  ablution. Those rituals are known by Hindi, Jewish people, christian churches and others – that are rituals with water. To plunge into the water and coming out is the meaning of death and ressurrection, cleaning and rebirth. … Let us think about our every day life – how refreshing is a fine shower bath, diving in the swimming-pool  or going to the beach? – this sensations we know – water is refreshing, water gives us life. We are grateful to have water !!

Jesus came to John the Baptist to be one of many to be plunged into the water do river Jordan to show penitence, reversion, cleaning up and new beginning.  But … what is that ..?  Will Jesus Christ need penitence, cleaning, reversion ?? Isn´t He the Savior,  Son of God? –  Exactly therefore He put himselve between the humans, this was His place, His mission. He was baptized as everyone of us, like a sinner. When He came out of the water, the voice of god spoke: ” You are my Son, in whom I am well pleased”  Jesus came into our world to lead us out of the turbulent waters of our lifes,  up to a new life. Out of the first days of the christians they baptized. To be a child of Christ we have to be baptized like Jesus himselve.  Baptism is like a ticket to enter the family of Christians.  Nos esperamos to receive a new life in Jesus, a change in our wordly life, protection and grace. God speakes not only to Jesus, but to everybody who is baptized a great “JES” —- “Jes, I am with you !!”
