At Pentecost we celebrate the descent of the Holy Spirit on the believers. He is the third authority in the Most Holy Trinity, the mystery of the one God in the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. They are not “three gods”, but a single god and three persons.
“They are people, real, different, different – not emanations of God, no, no, persons. There is the Father, to whom I pray the Our Father, who has given me redemption and justification; there is the Holy Spirit who dwells in us and in the Church. This speaks to our hearts, because this mystery is made clear in that expression of St. John, which sums up the whole of Revelation: ‘God is love’. The Father is love, the Son is love, the Holy Spirit is love. “
