Mercy, mercy – who is merciful like God? It is difficult for people to be merciful. It is easy for him to be grateful for good, even to do guites himself – but what about when bad happens to him? Can he forgive his fellow man, brother, sister, relatives, friend? To be able to forgive is not easy, this quality has to be worked out hard, remember that God generously forgives all our sins and mistakes. So we should also be generous and forgive those who have done us harm. Don’t just say: “Yes, it’s already forgotten!”, But try to honestly, with all your heart, sweep away all grief about what has happened and honestly forgive.

If we inflict suffering on others, we cannot excuse ourselves that the devil did it, no, we ourselves have to take responsibility for our actions and take the consequences. But we are not alone in our pursuit of perfection because the Lord is with us:

Luke 21:15 because I want to give you wisdom and ability to speak, which all your adversaries will not contradict or be able to resist.

The Holy Spirit speaks, the Lord is in our lives, the presence of the Lord is always palpable, we just have to stretch out our inner antennas to feel him. The Lord changes our lives, we just have to follow him, he will help us. Our being is renewed, the Lord helps us when we call on him in prayer, he helps us to help our fellow human beings when they need us. Some people are dry inside, parched, they don’t feel the Lord who is always there for them. Please ask the Lord to stay with you !!

Matthew 5:11 11 You are blissful when they insult and persecute you and lie liarly to speak any evil word against you for my sake!

Let’s stay strong in following Jesus, even if they insult us! We cannot allow others to disregard our Lord. The point here is to forgive because they “don’t know what they’re doing”. Those who do not know the Lord will think his followers crazy and stupid, throw stones at them – let’s raise our hands and reject all those who want to attack us for Jesus’ sake. If we help them to feel the love of the Lord, we return the attacks just as the Lord returned them – with all the love that was so great that he gave his life on the cross for humanity. Let us forgive those who want bad things for us, because heaven will open for us if we are humble and forgiving.

Matthew 5:44 But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who insult and persecute you,

Let us praise and praise the Lord, because we are witness to the fact that heaven opens up for those who forgive their enemies. Whoever has no love cannot forgive. The gospel shows us the way. How many families, friendships, marriages are destroyed because there is no forgiveness between them. It is not easy to forgive, but whoever does it grows beyond himself, feels the joy and satisfaction, heaven opens up for him. The pain vanishes when we hear the Lord’s glory. Absolution – what a beautiful, gentle word! The Lord forgave his enemies, the love of the Lord heals us.

Romans 12: 19 Do not take revenge yourself, beloved, but give space to the wrath [of God]; for it is written: “Vengeance is mine; I will repay, says the Lord. “[a]

20 “Now if your enemy is hungry, give him food; if he is thirsty, give him a drink! If you do that, you will collect fiery coals on his head. «[B]

21 Do not let evil overcome you, but overcome evil through good!

Give the enemy food and drink, honor the one who spurns you. The Lord’s love does not make us think of “an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth”, but it teaches us to forgive our neighbor. The time has come to open the heart, the Lord is helping us.

Let us renew from the bottom of our hearts our vow to follow the Lord, to serve him, how to work in love, to live according to his commandments. Lord, pour out your grace on us, which we struggle to keep your commandments. Give us your presence, your love, your breath.

Forgiveness is the key to opening the doors to be happy here on earth and in heaven.
