Isaias 50: 4-7

The Lord God gives me
the right words
    to encourage the weary.
Each morning he awakens me
    eager to learn his teaching;
he made me willing to listen
and not rebel or run away.

I let them beat my back
    and pull out my beard.
I didn’t turn aside
when they insulted me
    and spit in my face.
But the Lord God keeps me
    from being disgraced.
So I refuse to give up,
because I know
God will never let me down.

John 15 :12 `I am telling you to love each other as I have loved you.

13 The strongest love anyone can have is this. He will die to save his friends.

14 You are my friends if you do what I tell you to do.

15 I do not call you servants anymore, for the servant does not know what his master is doing. But I have called you friends because you know everything that my Father has told me.

F R I E N D  !!!   What is a friend? Who is a friend?  Someone you like to be with, who stands by you when you are in distress and difficulty. Many call themselves friends, if we are well they are happy to share their happiness and comfort with us. But what about in times of need? Which of the “friends” is still at our side?

Jesus calls those “friends” who do what he commands them to do. The true friend is also present when things are not going well with us, precisely then he is by our side because he is affectionately connected to us and wants to help us out of the negative situation.

But friend is also the one who orientates you, who shows you the way. We Christians are friends of one another because together we are concerned about our salvation, to do justice to the Lord’s commission.
