Luke 1:68-75

“Blessed be the Lord God of Israel,
because he has come to help and has redeemed his people.
69 For he has raised up a horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David,
70 as he spoke through the mouth of his holy prophets from long ago,
71 that we should be saved from our enemies,
and from the hand of all who hate us.
72 He has done this to show mercy to our ancestors,
and to remember his holy covenant—
73 the oath that he swore to our ancestor Abraham.
This oath grants 74 that we, being rescued from the hand of our enemies,
may serve him without fear,
75 in holiness and righteousness before him for as long as we live.

When listening to the words : “We should be saved from our enemies” the men where astonished and thougt, that someone my come and kill the enimies with his swords and armaments. Bot the Lord does not use armaments like humans, he uses the armaments of love and mercy. For humans that was and is very hard to be understood, because humans think in a different way than God. His armament is love, he let his beloved son kill by humans to save the world. When we understand that the enemy canot be killed and than everything is allright, we begin to go onto the path of Jesus. The killing of somebody always let something bad in us behind and we are not really free in our hearts. Therefore we should try to solve the problems in a peaceful way. Our enemy often is not outside but hidden deep in us. This is the antagonist we have to fight against: our own inactivity, missing faith, inertness. When we are able to kill the enemy in us, we also will be able to live with our earthly enemies. Having God inside of us, everybody will recognise: “That is a special man  (woman)”. Jesus rescued us all and we only have to believe in Him.
